Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced the implementation of a remote work system every Sunday that will go into effect in April 2026.
The decision applies to employees in the public and private sectors, according to a Cabinet statement.
The Prime Miniser noted that this move comes as part of Egypt's efforts to rationalize energy consumption and enhance operational efficiency.
Madbouly emphasized that the measure will exclude factories and vital service entities that require uninterrupted on-site operations to ensure that production and essential services continue without disruption.
The working remotely on Sundays policy is a procedure under a broader government package aimed at balancing economic continuity with fuel-saving measures in line with the energy-related developments and the current developments and tensions in the region.
